The Beacon Farm flux site was located on an intensively managed dairy farm on the Mid-Canterbury plains, South Island, New Zealand. It consisted of two instrumentation systems, one located on irrigated pasture, and the other on an adjacent non-irrigated pasture.
The site was established in August 2012 and stopped taking measurements in July 2015. It was managed by Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research . The research was supported by Core Funding for Crown Research Institutes from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment's Science and Innovation Group.
